As the official pattern of B.A.S.S., Mossy Oak Fishing is thrilled to have five of the top professional anglers competing in the 2019 GEICO Bassmaster Classic.
The 2019 GEICO Bassmaster Classic begins on Friday, March 15th on the Tennessee River where anglers will fish each of the three days out of Volunteer Landing in downtown Knoxville, Tennessee. After competing each day, anglers will weigh-in their bass at the Thompson-Boling Arena on the University of Tennessee Campus, a 20,000-seat facility, making it the fifth largest in the country. B.A.S.S. Life and Nation members can enter the arena at 3:00 PM local time and the general public will be admitted at 3:15 PM.
The Mossy Oak Fishing pros competing in the 2019 Bassmaster Classic are:
- Jordan Lee: back-to-back Bassmaster Classic Champion
- Kevin VanDam: Four-time Bassmaster Classic Champion
- Ott DeFoe: 4/7 Top-5 Bassmaster Classic Appearance Finishes
- Brandon Palaniuk: 2017 Bassmaster AOY
- Gerald Swindle: 2004 Bassmaster AOY
The anglers competing on behalf of the Mossy Oak Fishing Team have a combined total of 63 Bassmaster Classic appearances and 6 victories (VanDam-4 and Lee-2). An important angler to watch going into the tournament is Ott DeFoe. Ott has “home-river advantage,” being from Knoxville. He has an incredible opportunity to capitalize on what are very familiar fish and waters, not to mention having the luxury of sleeping in his own bed. DeFoe has been victorious in two recent Bassmaster Opens held in his home state held on Douglas Lake in 2017 and 2018.
Mossy Oak entered the fishing arena with its launch of Elements Agua in 2017. Elements Agua provides outdoors men and women with a pattern all their own, one that represents a lifestyle on the water that they love.
