Mossy Oak High School Fishing winners

As title sponsor of the Bassmaster High School Series and official pattern of B.A.S.S., Mossy Oak Fishing is thrilled to congratulate Colby Badeaux and Tyler Jordan from Live Oak High School in Watson, Louisiana, on winning the 2019 Mossy Oak Fishing Bassmaster High School Eastern Open presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors.

This tournament took place on Lake Hartwell in Anderson, South Carolina, where the 168 teams took out from Green Pond Landing on Saturday, March 2.  The winners, Badeaux and Jordan, finished the one-day tournament with a fish limit and a total weight of 18 pounds, 5 ounces. This weight tied them for first with Caz Anderson and Dean Crisler of Lewis County High School in Vanceburg, Kentucky.  However, Badeaux and Jordan won with the tie-breaking biggest bass weigh-off with their biggest bass weighing in at an even 6 pounds, beating Anderson/Crisler’s biggest bass of 5 pounds, 5 ounces.

The biggest bass of the tournament was weighed in by Ethan Griffin and Hunter Simmons with Harris County High School out of Hamilton, Georgia. Griffin/Simmons’s bass weighed in at 6 pounds, 8 ounces.

“It’s an honor to play a role in this tremendous program for young anglers at the high school level,” said Ben Maki, Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer of Mossy Oak. “We’re proud of all the competitors, pursuing their outdoors passion and learning through the experience.”
