Pat Reeve and Nicole Jones Bow Hunt for African Cape Buffalo

After hunting water buffalo in Australia, I wanted to hunt cape buffaloes with my bow. More people are killed by Cape buffaloes than any other dangerous-game animal in Africa. On the first day of the hunt, Frikkie explained, “These cape buffaloes move in herds. We have to find a herd, pick out a shootable bull and then get close enough for you to get a bow shot without being seen or smelled.”

On the third day, we were still searching for this big bull that George wanted Nicole to take. The bull’s nickname was “Houdini,” because he vanished every time we got close to him. We’d already spent 3 days of our 7-day hunt without getting a shot.

Pat Reeve Says He Shot Nicole’s Red Stag in New Zealand
