For unmatched support of the National Wild Turkey Federation’s efforts to recruit hunters and conserve critical wildlife habitat, Mossy Oak recently earned the NWTF’s Corporate Achievement Award during the 41st annual NWTF Convention and Sport Show in Nashville.
Presented annually by the NWTF, the Corporate Achievement Award recognizes corporate partners whose outstanding work and dedication to the NWTF’s mission go above and beyond normal levels.
“It’s not enough to attach the Mossy Oak name to the NWTF as the official camouflage,” said Toxey Haas, founder of Mossy Oak. “It’s not enough to design a camo pattern for turkey hunters. What is at the core of our partnership with the NWTF, and is of vital importance to the sport we enjoy, is responsibility to the resource. That includes documenting our history, preserving the present and securing the future. The NWTF has programs in place to do just that, and we are honored to partner with them. This is so much more than a short term promotional relationship to all of us here at the Mossy Oak brand and family. The NWTF and all of its dedicated team and members are our family too. Wild turkeys and conservation are literally our life’s work!”
Mossy Oak’s commitment to wildlife conservation is well establish, and its heightened relationship with the NWTF was the catalyst for the conservation organization’s now revamped licensing program. In 2015, Mossy Oak became the official camo of the NWTF, and just this year the tried-and-true Obsession camo, now including the NWTF logo in the pattern, became available to turkey hunters everywhere. Every time a hunter purchases new clothing or gear with Mossy Oak Obsession on it, they can be proud in knowing they are supporting conservation.
“Many in the outdoor industry have really gotten behind the NWTF’s Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt. initiative, but no one has come on stronger, or more out-front, than our longtime friends at Mossy Oak,” said Doug Saunders, NWTF chief marketing and strategy officer. “From the new NWTF Obsession to support of our Hunting Heritage Center in Edgefield, South Carolina, Mossy Oak’s partnership and investment in the initiative covers it all.”
About Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt. initiative.
The NWTF Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt. initiative is a charge that mobilizes science, fundraising and devoted volunteers to give the NWTF more energy and purpose than ever. Through this national initiative, NWTF has committed to raising $1.2 billion to conserve or enhance more than 4 million acres of essential upland wildlife habitat, recruiting and reactivating at least 1.5 million hunters and open access to 500,000 acres for hunting, shooting and outdoor enjoyment. Without hunters, there will be no wildlife or habitat. The NWTF is determined to Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt.
