Pursuit Channel announces that Nielsen analytics from March 2018 has certified solid destination viewership for the network when compared to other outdoor television content providers. The report underscores the network’s most-recent increases in show-series recruitment and new advertising queries from many of the top brands in the category.
The latest Nielsen measurement, just final, verifies that 7 million unique viewers watched Pursuit Channel this past March.* Among the network’s most watched series were: On the Water with Hank Parker, Lindner’s Ultimate Fishing Adventures, Fly Rod Chronicles, Cabela’s Fisherman’s Handbook, Trailing the Hunter’s Moon and Brush Country Whitetails.
March Nielsen also highlighted Pursuit as a most-frequent destination for the outdoor set, with millions of its unique viewers returning on average to their favorite network programming more than 11 times during the month.**
“This true testimony is in lockstep with the high quality of work provided by our partners in outdoor production,” said CEO Rusty Faulk. “The Pursuit television community currently features more than 120 series, delivering the newest Hunt/Fish/Shoot content presently available. Our viewers appreciate that we are not oversaturating them with the same episodes again and again, which has become the norm from other networks.”
March numbers from Nielsen, the world’s original and most-trusted television analyst, also expose that the Pursuit viewer is watching, on average, more than 182 minutes of network content per month.***
“Winning in these aforementioned categories speaks directly to the prominence, the increased muscle, of the Pursuit brand,” said Greg Sugg of MOOSE Media. “This is a remarkable network filled with the top-tier independent producers who are backed by the most revered companies in the outdoors, all mutually enjoying the benefits of a big, engaged and very loyal community. And Pursuit producers, advertisers – yes, viewers too – are all reveling in these things at best-in-class values.”
Finally, Nielsen has also updated its Universe Estimate (UE) for outdoor networks, certifying Pursuit as the only North American broadcast entity currently growing outdoor-themed distribution. Since January 2018, Nielsen reports that the Pursuit footprint has increased by seven percent, adding 2 million homes. “Our UE will see another significant jump this midsummer, following the pending announcement that a new system has added Pursuit to its network portfolio,” said Faulk. “We are blessed with continued interest in this network from new distributors. In fact, we expect to make as many as three new carriage announcements with major distributors before October 2018.”
