Mossy Oak Fishing Team member, Brandon Palaniuk, won his fourth B.A.S.S. title on Sunday when he won the 2020 Bassmaster Elite at Lake Champlain.
Palaniuk won the event and a $100,000 first place cash prize. He went from eighth place (Day 1) to 11th place (Day 2) to fifth place on Day 3. Palaniuk used a great pattern he discovered practicing before the tournament to hone in on some giant smallmouth on the final day. The action was intense, and the pounds accumulated to launch Palaniuk into a first-place finish.
According to bassmaster.com, Palaniuk said: "It was just one of those days where everything worked out. All week long, I said, 'Just give me a shot,' because I looked at the weather, and I knew we were going to get that windy weather we got in practice. I had a really good practice, and I felt like I could literally drive around, look at my (Humminbird) LakeMaster charts, pull up on a spot and catch big ones. I think the wind this morning helped push those baitfish up, and it moved a lot of those fish up. Those fish aren't resident fish; they chase schools of bait."
