Bassmaster Elite angler and Mossy Oak Fishing Team member, Ott DeFoe, recently won his second consecutive Bassmaster Eastern Open tournament at Tennessee’s Douglas Lake. Furthermore, DeFoe’s win over the weekend also made this his third win of the same tournament in five years.
DeFoe benefited from years of experience fishing these familiar waters near his hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee. He was able to assess the watern elevation and temperature to dictate the location where he would fish and his approach to that specific area.
“We are so proud that Ott is a part of our Mossy Oak Fishing family,” said Ben Maki, Chief Marketing Officer for Mossy Oak. “His character as a man outshines his skill level as an angler and that says something. You always love seeing great guys win and that happened this weekend.”
Winning the Bassmaster Eastern Open will only maximize DeFoe’s momentum going into this week’s Angler of the Year Championship in Hiawassee, Georgia. He currently sits in fourth place for the overall AOY, meaning he has had an outstanding year. Viewers will be able to tune into the AOY Championship at www.bassmaster.com/video/bassmaster-live-aoy-championship. LIVE times are 8-11, Noon-3pm ET on Thursday, Friday and Sunday. There is no fishing on Saturday.
