Mossy Oak’s Annual Fox Hole Shootout Hits Record-Breaking Year with $290,000 Raised for St. Jude, Catch-a-Dream, Conservation

Mossy Oak’s annual Fox Hole Shootout took place once again this year, uniting hunters and the local community in West Point, MS. With a full lineup of events including a competitive golf tournament, a highly anticipated wild game dinner featuring renowned chefs, and both live and silent auctions offering one-of-a-kind items, the Fox Hole Shootout raised an incredible amount of $290,000– the highest amount raised in the event’s history.

The golf tournament kicked off the day at the Mossy Oak Golf Course and the Old Waverly Golf Course. Teams of four played 18 holes scramble-style, the team with the lowest score to take the trophy. While the golf tournament went on in the heat of the day, the chefs at the wild game dinner cooked all day long to have the best, tenderest version of their dishes.

Mossy Oak invited wild game chefs from across the country (and Canada) to create unforgettable wild game dishes with native elements. Chefs included Michael Hunter, Matt Molina, Zane Dearien, Craig Verhage, and more. Some of the favorite dishes from the night include elk roast and grits (Grits and Grillades), grilled grouper on the half shell, fire roasted oysters, venison chili with peach cornbread, and more.

Attendees enjoyed around 20 different wild game entrees.

A live auction followed the dinner, featuring unique items like a trumpet call handcrafted by Mark Prudhomme with wood from the legendary Mossy Oak Tree, the #127 bottle of Mossy Oak Jefferson Reserve, a British Labrador puppy from Mossy Oak Kennels (complete with food for a year + 4 months of training), and an offshore tuna fishing trip to Venice, Louisiana. The silent auction included one-of-a-kind items such as a 1-of-1 Full Foliage Turtlebox speaker, a Bottomland cowbell signed by HARDY, several handmade turkey call and duck calls, and more.

Funds raised during the event will be directed toward St. Jude Children's Hospital, Catch-a-Dream, SOLE, and conservation efforts facilitated through the Mossy Oak Gamekeeper Grants team. Mossy Oak’s dedication to conservation and the great outdoors continues to drive its mission to protect natural resources and foster a sense of responsibility among hunters.
