Turkey Calls
Trumpet Call from the Mossy Oak Tree made by Mark Prudhomme *LIVE AUCTION ITEM*
This trumpet call made from the famed Mossy Oak tree by master call maker Mark Prudhomme is a one-of-a-kind piece of Mossy Oak and turkey hunting history. The “Mossy Oak tree” at Lower Alabama’s historic Choctaw Bluff Hunting Club served as the inspiration for the Mossy Oak brand, and this call represents some of the last remnants of wood salvaged from the venerable Sand Post Oak. Choctaw Bluff is where Fox Haas and Toxey Haas shared countless spring mornings, and the Mossy Oak tree was iconic landmark for club members. Prudhomme, who was the recipient of the NWTF’s 2021 Tom Turpin Award in the trumpet call division, as well as a 17 time Grand National Calling Championship winner as a caller, has furbished the call with a medical grade polymer mouthpiece and brass ferrule. Own a one-of-one piece of hunting lore made by a world-renowned call maker.

#127 Mossy Oak Tree Jefferson Reserve Bourbon
This bottle of bourbon was aged with wood from the original Mossy Oak Tree of Choctaw Bluff, Alabama with Jefferson’s Bourbon in Oldham County, Kentucky. Located in the heart of the legendary river swamps of the Alabama River, lies the Choctaw Bluff Hunting Club, where Mr. Fox and Toxey grew up hunting. The Club, which was founded as a turkey hunting club in 1926, is one of the oldest turkey hunting clubs in the country. Located on the property was a legendary tree, covered in Spanish moss, that the club dubbed “The Mossy Oak”. This was a favorite hunting spot for the members of the club and for Mr. Fox and Toxey. When Toxey took a fistful of dirt, sticks and leaves and founded the company in 1986, he decided to name it after this legendary tree, and Mossy Oak was born. Years later, the tree died but the wood was salvaged and used for various special projects. Jefferson’s and Mossy Oak came together to create a one-of-a-kind bourbon using this wood from the Mossy Oak Tree. We charred wood from the Mossy Oak and finished a barrel of Jefferson’s Very Small Batch for 2 more years. This bourbon, aged in the history of Mossy Oak, is truly a one-of-a-kind bourbon that will never be sold to the public outside of a few auctions for good causes.
