The Browning Hells Canyon Ultra-lite Jacket, in Mossy Oak Country, is perfect for the active Hunter and Sportsman. When packing at elevations above 7,500 feet, I don't want to be weighed down with excess gear and bulk, so my go-to outerwear jacket is the Browning Ultra-lite.
The Jacket
An Ultra-lite jacket will provide the “see-it-and-get” hunter, with plenty of dry warmth in most weather conditions. The lightweight shell fabric is water-resistant, wind-resistant, and highly breathable. The jacket comes with Brownings new ADDvanced Scent control to significantly reduce human scent. ADDvanced is a two level technology that attacks bacteria and then captures human scent before it escapes into the air. This scent control lasts for the life of the garment and regenerates with every wash/dry cycle.
The sleeves are lined for easy on/off and also feature internal cuffs to block drafts. There's also drop-back bottom hem with draw-cord to seal in warm air and prevent drafts. The athletic fit of the jacket adds to its comfort when slinging a backpack and or weapon.
The Pattern
The new Mossy Oak Break-Up Country pattern combines digitally enhanced, life-sized natural elements with perfect color tones. This combination makes for just the right amount of depth and shadowing, making it the ideal pattern for a number of hunting situations and light periods throughout the day. In the Break-Up Country pattern, this jacket is versatile enough to be worn during the early fall big game season or in the spring for turkey hunting. With some additional insulation the Ultra-lite could even be worn during late season hunts. I’ve also discovered that the new Break-Up Country pattern is a good concealment pattern for the West. While wearing this jacket I've been able to put the sneek on both elk and mule deer.
Performance
I've had this jacket on my back while scouting above the timber line in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah during light rain storms, a hail storm, and in winds gusting up to 30 miles an hour and have always been comfortable. Additionally, I'm always packing a minimum of 20 pounds in my pack and found that the Ultra-lite was breathable and did a great job of wicking away moisture.
Yep, it's a well designed high tech jacket with an unmatched camo pattern. The Browning Hells Canyon Ultra-lite Jacket is what I'll be wearing this fall.
