Q&A with Ted Nugent

We sat down with “Uncle Ted” to learn more about who he is, whether on or off camera.

ted nugent

Mossy Oak: If you had to recommend one book to anyone, what would it be?

Ted: Ted, White & Blue: The Nugent Manifesto

Mossy Oak: What is the best purchase you have ever made under $100?

Ted: My Leatherman Multi-Tool

Mossy Oak: When you think of the word successful, who is the first person that comes to mind and why?

Ted: Donald J. Trump. Those who condemn President Trump for refusing to use cowardly, politically correct words would be wise to remember the words of Harry Truman who said, “Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear.”

Mossy Oak: What is something you believe that other people think is insane?

Ted: America must end the big lie that bureaucrats can run our lives better than we can. All Americans must return to the logic that no one has a right to anything they don't earn. We must return to the competitive spirit of being the very best that we can be and end the embarrassment of Americans who have given up looking for jobs. We must end the embarrassment of jobs Americans are not willing to do. We must end the slavery of welfare, food stamps, the big lie that there is any such a thing as free stuff. We have fallen so far from the honest, rugged individualism that made America the last best place. America must demand that the government get the hell out of our lives.

Mossy Oak: What is the worst advice you hear being dispensed in today’s world?

Ted: Who on God's good green earth can possibly support the redistribution of hard working American's earnings to people unwilling to earn their own way?

Mossy Oak: What are some common misconceptions about you?

Ted:  I doubt there is much mystery or misconception left about me after more than 50 years of nonstop interviews, writings, media and public exposure. The goofy, irresponsible, unprofessional, dishonest, anti-American agenda-driven lying media has consistently lied about me and made up the most ridiculous and nasty stories, but the truth is more than available for intelligent, caring and honest people to know and embrace. Good people know the truth, goofballs live a lie. I'm good with that.

Mossy Oak: Who has been the biggest mentor/supporter of your life?

Ted: Where could I begin to celebrate the greatest mother anyone could ever be blessed with! She was a loving, doting, motherly ball of fire! Even in the firestorm of scary controversy in those wild early days of Little Richard Rock-N-Roll, she was always there supporting my musical dreams! It was her & her sister Nancy's unbridled fun and enthusiasm singing old folk songs that played a huge role in my attraction to the fun factor in music. My beloved mother was with me every grueling, fun, exciting step of the way as I thundered forward with my uppity musical dreams. She is with me each and every day to this day.

Mossy Oak: Do you have a quote you live your life by or think of often?

Ted: Sometimes you give the world the best you got and you get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you got anyway. Stand up for what you believe in and never back down and never give in never give up!

Mossy Oak: If you could relive a moment, what would it be?

Ted: Right now.

Mossy Oak: What is one change you have made in your career that has led to the biggest/best results?

Ted: Each year gets more intense and more focused. We are the tightest, highest energy band in the world, and if that young 27-year-old Ted Nugent showed up, we'd kick his ass.
