Toxey’s love for the outdoors was instilled in him at a young age by his father. Toxey took the idea of building a business "from the ground up" literally. Using inspiration from the natural surroundings of the woods, in 1986 he founded Haas Outdoors, Inc. and the Brand we all know as Mossy Oak. Some of Mossy Oak’s first products were manufactured in his mother Evelyn’s sewing room in their attic. Now, products bearing the Mossy Oak logo can be found all across the country. Toxey has always described himself as a "homeboy" and rightfully so. He was raised in West Point, Mississippi, attended college at Mississippi State University and returned to West Point to open Mossy Oak’s headquarters. Toxey still works and lives in West Point and keeps his family close. He and his wife, Diane, have a daughter, Sara Frances, and twin boys, Daniel and Neill.
