Breaking into a male-dominated industry is never easy, but Jen O’Hara and Norissa Harman, the owners of Girls with Guns Clothing, have been doing it since 2009, when they started their iconic line of everyday outdoor lifestyle apparel for women who enjoy shooting and hunting. They’ve been blessed to be able to partner with Mossy Oak®, the leader in outdoor camouflage, since the beginning, creating trend-worthy pieces for camo-loving country girls everywhere. The girls have once again brought their flair for fashion to the outdoors, this time to the duck blind, with their brand new Waterfowl Jacket, designed by women for women, in the Mossy Oak Shadow Grass Blades pattern.

The GWG Waterfowl Jacket started as a design concept after Jen O’Hara spent countless winters up in Big Valley, California, jump-shooting duck ponds and laying in snow-covered ground blinds hunting for snow geese with her family, wishing her men’s waterfowl jacket would hold up to the harsh winter temperatures and conform to a woman’s body, all while providing ample storage and comfort amenities. Following the introduction of GWG’s first hunting line in Mossy Oak® Break-Up Infinity®, released in October of 2014, the Girls with Guns design team worked diligently to design a waterfowl jacket that was waterproof, wind resistant, warm without being bulky, and featured aspects to help the huntress in the blind or afield.

GWGBlades_llThe GWG Waterfowl Jacket  features all of the contemporary comforts that both the amateur and die-hard waterfowl hunter can appreciate. Offering top of the line synthetic down alternative insulation in the form of 80gsm PrimaLoft® Silver insulation, which was the first branded insulation manufacturer to be awarded the BlueSign partner status for environmental responsibility, the Waterfowl Jacket is equipped with an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio, meaning that less bulk is needed on a woman’s frame in order to retain an adequate amount of body heat. Partnering with PrimaLoft also allowed the design team to incorporate 100% waterproof breathability into a jacket that offers unsurpassed softness while contributing to a flattering fit that female waterfowlers are looking for. Features such as neoprene wrist cuffs and fitted elbow and shoulder sections that offer a greater range of shooting motion have been added to the jacket after extensive field testing by the owners of Girls with Guns Clothing. Comfort amenities include hidden hand warmer pockets, adjustable waist and hood drawstrings, velcro cuffs, and handy cargo pockets with internal shell loops. Regardless of what is needed out in the field or the blind, there is ample storage space in the form of secure pockets, which will make the GWG Waterfowl Jacket a staple in every hunting closet for years to come.

The Girls with Guns Clothing® Waterfowl jacket, currently offered in the stunningly realistic Mossy Oak® Shadow Grass Blades pattern, is available in sizes XS-XL, and 2X, and can be found online at www.gwgclothing.com and in outdoor retailers like Cabela’s®, Scheel’s®, Sportsman’s Warehouse®, Dick’s Sporting Goods®, Field & Stream®, and many other GWG retailer locations. The jacket currently retails for $199.99 MSRP, offering an excellent waterfowl jacket at an equally excellent introductory price. Somewhat surprisingly we learned his favorite pattern is the original Bottomland camo for hunting waterfowl. “The reason I like Bottomland is because I primarily hunt flooded timber, and Bottomland looks more like a tree trunk, especially when I’m standing in the shadow of a tree, than a real
